The sun has just risen
and I stare directly into the blaze
though painful to my eyes,
to my soul

And I remember that night
when we stared at the moon together
though miles apart
and it gave us comfort

Sometimes it comforts me
to know that the sun is shining
down on both of us
though miles apart

I know you are not seeking
the same comfort as I
you've found it in another's arms
I've found it in another drink

But to know the sun has just risen
and is shining down on both of us
gives me a tiny bit of comfort
though not often.
