When I'm alone in the wild
If I strut like I'm bigger
All will fear my presence

You taught me to cuddle
How to be soft and supportive
To a friend in need
Without saying a word

You taught me to fight
How to defend myself
And those I love
With sharp claws and wit

You taught me to sulk gracefully
When others mock me
If I turn my back and walk away
They will leave me alone

You taught me to play
And not care how silly I look
Attacking my own tail
Just for the fun of it

You taught me to heal my heart
When I'm torn open
If I just lick my wounds
I'll soon be well again

You taught me to love
How it does not matter
That we are different creatures
We love unconditionally
