Happy birthday to me today, the big 3-0! Can't say I'm exactly thrilled about leaving the adventure of my twenties, but I did have one final hurrah before turning 30 in the form of the arrival of my new son, Daniel. He made it by only four days, being born on May 12th at 4:02pm and weighing a whopping 8 pounds 10 ounces! As those with children can guess, I haven't had much time for anything, let alone taking and uploading pictures, so here's a quick shot I took with my camera phone the day after he was born.
Connor seems to be adjusting okay to being a big brother. He often comes up to him and tells me "Aww, he's cute!" and tonight he gave him a big kiss and told him he loves him as we were all snuggling up in bed together. He's also adjusting well to all the new toys we keep buying him to keep him occupied and not overly jealous about the extra attention that a new baby tends to steal away.
I'll try to post some better pictures later, but obviously I don't have time for much right now so it might be a while...
So I recently learned to crochet and have been making little animals with it, and I came across a pattern for Muno of Yo Gabba Gabba. Since my son LOVES this show, I decided to give it a shot. I had just started on the head when my husband entered the room and said, "What the fuck, are you making a hat for my penis?" I guess I can see why he'd think that...
Which got me thinking, I want to crochet a dick complete with scrotum just for shits and giggles. If I ever get good enough to start making up more advanced patterns, I might try making a vadge to go with it. Yeah, I'm sick like that. But for now I'll stick to "G" rated stuff since that's all I can find others' patterns for. Here's the finished Muno by the way.
We're expecting again! Due May 27th. Will update next week after we (hopeully) find out what we're having!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, Connor sure did... He celebrated by beginning to walk. Oh god.
I'm sure that by now there aren't too many people who haven't heard of the phallic Dora The Explorer Aquapet, but I just had to share the news that regardless of it being taken off the market by major online retailers (such as Amazon and Toys'R'Us to name a couple) I managed to find one on some random site that apparently hasn't received word yet. Providing that the order goes through before they discover what they're selling, I will soon be welcoming a new monitor guardian to my desk:
